Class Descriptions

Here at The MATS Daly City, we offer a variety of difference classes for Yoga, Sound Healing and much more!

Read the information below on our class offerings and please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Bodyweight Workout

Bodyweight workouts, also known as calisthenic workouts, are a style of exercise with a focus on controlling your body weight through various movements to build strength, endurance, and stamina. These exercises can be done anywhere, can be modified to be harder or easier so everyone can do them, and by controlling just your body weight, they deepen your connection to your body, increasing your proprioception. Because of this, this bodyweight workout class is perfect for both new and experienced members.

Restorative Yoga & Sound Healing

Indulge in a 35-40 minute Restorative Yoga session, followed by 15 minutes of harmonious sound healing through the mesmerizing tones of Tibetan bowls applied to the body. Conclude with an additional 15 minutes of serene sound healing and meditation to rejuvenate your mind and body. This is a donation based offering. Please contribute what you can toward the class. Thank you.

Vinyasa Flow

Vinyasa Flow is a dynamic and balanced practice that blends strength-building and muscle-stretching elements. As the class progresses, the instructor will guide you through a series of flowing sequences, designed to target specific muscle groups. Students are encouraged to move at their own pace and listen to their bodies. Modifications and variations are provided to accommodate different fitness levels, ensuring that everyone can find their challenge and growth edge. The class concludes with a soothing cool-down, incorporating deeper stretches and relaxing poses.

Offsite Events

Offsite events are hosted by our meditation instructor, Joseph Coffin. For more information, please visit www.thematspacifica.com.

Hatha (Level 1)

Students engage in a gentle and balanced yoga practice that focuses on holding foundational postures to improve flexibility, alignment, and relaxation. The class aims to harmonize the body and mind through mindful breathing and static poses, fostering a sense of inner calm and overall well-being.

Sound Healing / Sound Immersion

Sound healing is a form of meditation used along with crystal, alchemy, and metal Tibetan singing bowls. Sometimes bowls are played on a person’s belly or back, other times we listen to the bowls and a guided meditation. Come join us for an hour of sound bath and healing. Bring anything that will make your experience more comfortable such as eye masks, blankets, or pillows. We have complimentary yoga mats, blocks, blankets, and bolsters that are available for use at the studio. This is a donation based offering. Please contribute what you can toward the class. Thank you.

Yoga 101

Whether you are new to yoga, looking to ease back into your practice with a gentle reintroduction, or would like a refresher on the elements of a yoga pose, Yoga 101 is a great place to start. This practice provides a supportive environment to build strength, flexibility, and stamina. With guidance, you'll explore foundational poses, gentle stretches, and mindful breathing techniques. Yoga 101 is your gateway to a more balanced and mindful yoga practice.
